I had surprised Chad with a package that included a tour of the basketball locker rooms & arena, tour of the stadium and locker rooms, a field hockey and soccer game. The package was a little pricey because it did include football tickets, which we already had. I just really wanted the package for the stadium tour, so a few weeks before we left on the trip, I called to see if there was any options if we already had tickets and the lady made my day by saying yes and that the price was significally less if we didn’t need football tickets, SCORE!! I’m not the greatest at holding a surprise too long, but I managed to keep it a secret from him until we landed in Detroit! He was super excited about it and I’m glad I chose to do it, totally worth it! We started off the tour by touring the basketball locker rooms and arena and just so happened to catch the last of practice and meet the head coach who talked about the upcoming season. Of course, the best part of the tour was the football stadium and the new club and suite levels they have added. We did get to tour the locker room as well and then go down onto the field as well! Our vacation was now complete! We have had a great time in Ann Arbor, all the hype about it is so true, what a beautiful city, we will be back! I can tell you we would of never made it around so good without our gps on our phones, it was the first time I had really used it extensively. We relied on it everywhere we went and it would get us there every time, technology just keeps getting better! The weather was perfect, not humid, not cold, just perfect 70’s the entire time we were there. It was the first time we had been out of state since having kids, so it was very different, but just what we needed! I remember one night when we’d check in and make a phone call to them to make sure they were doing ok. I don’t get to hear their voices on the other line too often as I’m the one home with them all the time, so it would always complete my day to hear their voice and know I was missed! I remember telling my mother-in-law one evening that I missed them tremendously, but the fact that we were lounging in bed, drinking wine and watching a movie uninterupped, it was a much needed change of pace for once! We rarely know what that feeling is like anymore.
