Puking.....ughhhh....

We have been very lucky as far as sick kids go and haven't had 1 episode of puking yet with them. But that all ended this past Friday as Bray puked for the 1st time ever. I had not been feeling so well myself, so at 8:30 that night when I usually am wide awake and getting stuff done, I was so ready for bed. I asked Chad if he could hang out with Bray and put him to bed and of course he did because it was a Friday night, so that helped! I had just layed down to go to bed and I get a phone call, its a different area code and had no idea who it could be, so I just let it go. A few minutes later, the same number calls again, so I decide someone really wants to get ahold of me and sure enough much to my surprise, it was Chad and I's old RA from BHSU!! We had lost contact with him a few years ago and was able to get back in touch with him and it was so great to hear from him and get caught up on everything! In the middle of our converstaion, Chad comes upstairs and had told me Bray had puked all over him. So much for going to bed early! So I continued talking to him while Chad stuck Bray in the bathtub with him and cleaned him up and got him to bed. Saturday was just another normal day of errands and college football. I still was feeling kinda weak and naucious, so my hopes of getting Christmas decoration up that day were not looking good and we just ended up taking it easy the whole day. We made it almost 24 hours with no puking that evening. Needless to say, when Bray got up Sunday morning, he had puked again, most likely in the middle of the night/very early morning and went back to bed without it bugging him. Yuck, I don't know how he did that! That morning started off with yet another bath and another load of laundry. We figured this had to be the end of it and was just hoping he wouldn't puke again. We were thinking we were safe when Monday morning came around and no puking and throughout the day he was perfectly fine. I made dinner that evening and we were just finishing up when Bray turned in his chair and hurled all over the kitchen floor, oh no, back to square one. Of course this meant another bath and load of laundry and we became increasingly worried about what was wrong with him. We decided that I would call our ped. this morning and try to get him in to see what was going on. We had our appt. around 10 this morning and the dr. just said it was a common flu virus and he looked and sounded fine and that this can last up to 10 days. NOOOOOO!!! It couldn't be more perfect timing!?!?? We are packing up today so we can head back to Wray tomorrow to spend Thanksgiving with Chad's family the rest of the week. We are just keeping our fingers crossed that we don't have to deal with this away from home, but will be prepared to deal with it if we do have to. Luckily, he is his normal self and doesn't have the other symptoms, which would enable us to go back to Wray and celebrate Thanksgiving. So, we'll see what the rest of the week brings and pray that he's over this now! Stay tuned....
