So it seems ever since the kids have turned 1 & 2, they seem to learn something new everyday, especially Braylon. I am SO SO very blessed I get to be at home to see this, it trully makes my day complete and always puts a huge smile on my face! It just amazes me how much they pick up from maybe just 1 little thing you do and it is so true how much of a little 'sponge' they can be. For instance, I'm constintly picking up crumbs or milk spills from them on the floor, so every now and then I will catch Braylon going into the kitchen and getting a towel and coming over to wipe up the mess! You can now also tell him to throw away something in the trash and he'll do that too! This past weekend, we were cleaning house and Chad's task is the dusting and windexing. Of course he had a little helper who LOVES to help out a little too much, but Chad gave him a paper towel and he followed Chad around everywhere and worked so so very hard on all the coffee tables and such, it was the cutest thing to watch! He also will spot a bruise or 'owie' on you and ask you 'owie hurt?', oh the things he says just crackes me up! He says 'bounce' meaning he wants to jump on the trampoline next door (which he doesn't get to, but he likes to think he'll convince us to buy him one for Christmas!) , 'colors' is his crayons. He also crosses his arms around his chest and says 'brrrr' when I tell him its too cold to go outside. He says 'help' when he needs help putting food on his fork. Another really cute thing he does that he picked up from us is using his napkin at dinner. He likes to wipe his mouth off after he gets bites! So I could go on and on with Bray, but I'll stop, now its Bryn's turn..
I keep telling Chad that I envisioned us having this perfect little angel of a girl and she would be so sweet and shy and not cause problems with her big brother....well, come to find out, I was wrong! Yes, of course she is perfect to us and sweet most of the time, but she has already developed a little attitude and she's only 1?!?! I think the terrible 2's start at 1! She has to have everything her brother has and do everything he does as well. Chad and I joked last night that we are going to have to buy 2 of everything to make them both happy ( I guess we kind of do have twins-"Irish" twins that is!) She does this 'eh eh' thing when she doesn't get something Braylon has or is doing and oh boy, we can throw big fits, but she usually gets away with it with her cuteness! I keep telling Chad that I wish I was that cute and get my way like that! :) Bray and her are so alike in many ways and in many ways totally different. She just seems so much smaller than Bray was at this age last year and I was curious to see what their height/weight differences were at 1 yr., so I pulled out my binder to check. Bray was 23 pds. 10 oz at 1 and was 32 inches tall. Bryn was 20 lbs. 4 oz. and 30 inches tall, so there is quite a difference. Bray has always been in the 95th for height and avg. for weight. Bryn is in 40th percentile for weight and 80th for height, so its interesting to see their differences at the same age! Bryn is still not walking, our new goal is Christmas now as I don't think she's going to make our old goal of Thanksgiving. She is so very close, but doesn't seem to be in any kind of hurry! She can go up and down the stairs now pretty well, so that's a good and bad thing as she makes me nervous! I'm going to wrap this up now, I think I've done enough bragging for 1 day! I try and keep up with them by journaling in a developmental binder I put together for them month by month. It helps me keep track so I don't forget down the road what they did at what age and said. I am so far behind in my scrapbooking that I decided to make this binder so I can reference back to it when I get to making a certain page of a certain age in their lives!
