Last Wednesday, we finally got all packed up and headed out to Wray to spend Thanksgiving with Chad's family. Each time we go, we always joke about how we need a 15 passenger van or RV, as everytime we pack and go somewhere, we are crammed to the ceiling! We made our usual stop in Yuma, as that is where my littlest bro, Reece, works. Its always a nice break for the kids and its always good to see him and he loves seeing the kids and giving them suckers! We got to Wray and unpacked everything, had dinner at the inlaws that evening and just relaxed and got the kids settled into bed. The kids never sleep very well as Bray ends up sleeping with me and Bryn is in a crib in the next room and Chad gets the couch, so its a little sleepless to say the least, but it works temporarily! Very early the next morning (4:30 amThanksgiving morning), I awake to Bray puking next to me, I am startled and get him out of bed as fast as I can, he's upset and crying, and we tryed to do it quietly, but ended up waking up Bryn and half the house that morning. Finally a few hours later, we got everything cleaned up and the kids finally fell back to sleep for a few more hours. Needless to say, Thanksgiving started out rough! At around noon that day we had the traditional Thanksgiving dinner prepared by my mother in law and Chad's grandma. We had about 16 of us for lunch. It was all of Chad's immediate family and spouses and both sides of grandparents. As always, it was very good and ate too much! We spent the afternoon relaxing and napping and eating leftovers that evening.
Friday we were invited to a brunch of one of Chad's classmates from high school. It was so good to see her and their new baby girl who is 3 months old. After that we got together with my sister in law and brother in law and girlfriend and checked out the new Alco in town and went to have coffee while the guys went to do their thing. Friday afternoon, we came back home, got the kids down for naps and us girls prepared our appetizers for the evening. At 5:30 we went downtown to see the Parade of Lights. It got started about a half hour late and it was really cold, but it was kinda fun to see what it all entailed as we haven't been to one yet!
We went out to Brit and Dan's that night for yummy appetizers, beer and wine, it was so good and their house was SO festive and cute!! After eating, we played Catch Phrase and kicked the boys butt big time! It was lots of fun! After getting home a little late that night with kids (approx. 11pm) we got the kids bathed and put to bed and luckily was on going on day 2 with no puking, yeah! Saturday morning, we just lounged around and got packed and was ready to head back home. We had coffee with my little bro, Reece, before heading out and we made a quick stop in Idalia to see my grandparents on the way home! Its really nice to see them and it breaks up the trip a little bit for the kids as Bryn is a little bit fussy when it comes to riding in the car! We finally made it home around 5:30 Sat. night in one piece and were exhausted and got unpacked and relaxed the rest of the evening. We like coming home a day early and have at least one day to get caught up and back to reality! We are thankful Bray only had 1 episode of puking and I believe we are on the rebound with the flu because we haven't thrown up since then! All in all, we had a great time seeing family and friends, but its always good to be back home!
