I will never forget....

Today is the 7th anniversary of the attacks to the World Trade Centers, Pentagon and Pennsylvania. It is one of those horrific days that will forever be embedded in my memory, I can picture just exactly what I was doing when I heard the news, where we lived and what I was planning on doing that day. Shawn, Chad and I were living in our first apartment in Englewood, one month shy of moving into our first home. I was a travel agent at a Travel agency in Aurora, getting ready for work that day when I always watch the Today show in the morning and the news broke and I kept thinking this can't be real, its a dream, they are showing something fictional, that sadly, was far from it. I just couldn't peel myself away from the tv and couldn't believe that the news just kept getting worse and more planes and innocent people were under a brutal attack, and then the towers fell, unbelievable, I was horrified. I drove to work that day knowing that we'd probably get there and be sent home which ended up being the case. Later that day I realized that my Dad had been there for work, so I got on the phone right away and made sure he was back home safe and luckily he was and said that he had been there the day before. So, whenever I have a bad day or need to be reminded how lucky I am, I can always go back to this day and think of all the innocent families that lost loved ones. I don't know how they go on with life and deal with such horrible tragedy and have to practically start over. May they all rest in peace and know they are in a better place.
