What a busy week!

Its been a crazy week around here! Last weekend we were pretty much stuck inside as it rained pretty much all weekend! Chad helped a coworker move most all day Saturday, so the kids and I eventually ventured out after naps and did a little bit of shopping for them, always a good time, if they are behaving! Sunday my youngest brother got back from NYC where he went with some of his close friends to catch a game before they move to the new Yankee's stadium and the Yankee's were also playing the Royals, in which Luke Hochavear plays for, his parents have lived in Wray on and off and Luke's mom is from there. So, it was exciting to actually see somebody they knew as well! Reece spoiled the kids and brought them back each a little gift. Bray got a soft Michigan football and Bryn got a Sportscenter onesie, both very cute! So, he hung out with us most of the afternoon and got to play with the kids for awhile as we don't get to see him too much! Another milestone we've reached in our house is that Bryn has been cutting a few teeth on the bottom the last few weeks and is also trying to cut one on top, so as of yesterday, she has been a lot more crankier than usual, runny nose, drooling like crazy etc....so I feel bad for her, wish I could take away her pain, its a hard stage to go through with little ones, I'm ready for it to be over with! Today, Bray is 22 months old, this week I have been working on documenting as much as I can possibly remember and have written down so that one of these days I can finally get started on their scrapbooks! I just can't believe how much time flies and how much he's grown and developed, I wish he would slow down! A week from this coming Sunday will be the anniversary of his surgery he had. I can't believe its been a year and I'm so glad we had it done when he was little so he doesn't remember any of it, it was so difficult to see him go through that as a mother, something I will never forget. Although this week has been crazy, its a different kind of crazy, not one that we have to be somewhere all the time, just simply catching up at home. Monday I spent ALL day cleaning, its definetly a challenge with 2 kids to get that done, so between naps, feeding and playtime, its an all day task! Its one of the most dreaded tasks I have to do, but it feels so good when its all done and we have a clean house, at least for an hour or so! Tonight we are going to the Dankenbrings for the fantasy football annual draft, tomorrow is finally Friday and we are suppose to have our championship softball game after being delayed the last few weeks with weather, Saturday is Chad's birthday (and Alissa's too!). Unfortunetly, FHU's annual golf tourney is scheduled for that day, so that's where he will be a majority of the day. The kids and I will probably make a cake for him and go see my mom.
Finally, one last news story this past week that touched a little close to home for me. A family of four was killed in the high country last Friday as they were enroute to Texas from Steamboat Springs in their Cessna. They just seemed like the perfect All-American family, Dad was an executive at an energy company, the Mom was a beautiful gal, I don't know exactly what she did and the kids were beautiful as well, one boy and one girl. I don't know what exactly prompted the dad to takeoff in such horrible weather conditions, I'm sure we will never know, but it does bring back memories of my dad as a small aircraft pilot. As a child, my dad flew us everywhere in his Cessna, we were very lucky and blessed to be able to do this and there are so many good memories of that! My dad had flown for 17 years when I was little, so he was very experienced, but there is one thing you don't take lightly, and that is flying in bad weather and putting your family at risk. I will NEVER forget one time when we were on our way home from California and we flew into some really dense cloud cover over some terrian in Arizona. I know my Dad was not expecting this, but I've never experienced a near death experience as I did that day and the frightening looks on my mom, brother's and I's faces I will never forget. My dad has and still has an amazing calmness when he got behind the controls of the plane and he never once lost sight of that when we got in sticky situations like that, he is an incredible pilot and I will always be thankful for the memories he gave us! We eventually got through it, but its one of those moments that I will never forget. So, back to the tragic Jacomini family plane crash, they have been in my prayers all week and I pray for the extended family they left behind and they are all together now in heaven.

That plane crash is such a sad deal. It actually crashed right behind my parents ranch in Jefferson.
