10.6.10 Car seats

I am SO excited my kids are at the age where they can finally ride in a booster car seat. Bray was obviously at the weight for a booster for a long while, but B has finally reached it! Everything has its pros and cons, but this one seems to have more pros for me at least. Booster seats have 2 ways to use them. First, with the back and seat together (30 lbs.), second with just the seat part (40 lbs.). Bray could be in just the seat part, but B has to have the back and seat part. The best part about them is that they can be taken in and out of vehicles SO much easier than the other ones since we do a lot of transferring of carseats these days! They also just function just like we wear a seatbelt, so its super easy to get them in! B is really enjoying this new phase. We still have her old seat installed in my car because of daycare kids, but she loves sitting in her brother’s for now! One of these days, we will get her a seat of her own and Bray just the seat part. The only downside of these is that they do not support their neck when they fall asleep when we are traveling. We bought a few travel neck pillows at Walmart a few months back to see if that would help, but ended up returning them because they did not work. I’ve seen a few other different styles made for kids in a kids catalog I get, so maybe one of these days, I need to just bite the bullet and buy one and see if it will help them out. This picture is of B getting to ride in her brother's seat on a short trip to drop Bray off for preschool. She's so proud that she can touch my console up front!
