Today was a very rough day for our family. Shawn and Alissa made a horribly tough decision to put down their dog, Nala. Although we knew that it was only a matter of time for her, but when the day did come, it was so tough. Nala was Shawn's first dog. I have so many great memories of going to help pick her up in Durango in the winter time in 2001. Shawn lived with us for some time and we were able to get to know her as our own and she became big buddies when we got Rozzum in Spring of 2002. Nala was diagnosed with bone cancer a year ago and fought a tremendously tough battle. She was definetly an inspiration to all of us. I hope that if I had to go through something that tough, I would have that strength and spirit that she had. She was so incredibly lucky to have the caretakers she had, they both were so patient and had unconditional love and support for her from the moment they found out. She will be so very missed by all of us, such a big teddy bear and so loveable! Rest in peace Nala...October 17, 2001-August 14, 2010.
