We have hit another milestone in this house, its hard to believe our baby is already 2 years old already! We didn't celebrate too much today as they are having a big party together next weekend with both of our families, but I still wanted to make it a little special. She got to open up her presents from us and have sugar and cake all day, oh boy! I just can't get over how much she has changed in the last year. I think going from 1 to 2 is one of the biggest changes you see in your kids. I could spend all day looking at past pics from the last few years and videos too, its just amazing how they change and grow up! I will share a little of her birth story on her birthday for those who haven't heard all about it.
Bryn was officially due on Bray's birthday (Oct.21st), how that happened, only God knows, I'm still amazed by that. I kind of wished that if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't of been induced and waited to see if she would of actually came on his birthday, wouldn't of that been crazy? My very last baby appointment with her, she offered for us the option of being induced and we both decided that would be the best option for us. With working parents and having a almost 1 year old, we needed the reassurance that we'd have one of them able to take off of work a few days to watch him while we were in the hospital. Luckily my mom was able to stay with him. We were scheduled to go in at 6 am Monday morning the 15th. Having done this only almost a year ago, I was much more calm and relaxed. I had told Chad and the nurses that I was going to have this baby by noon no matter what! I knew that if I had Bray in 6 hours (from the time my water broke to actual delivery) that I could even do better! By the time we checked in and got all the paperwork and iv's in, it was 7am and they had just gave me pitocin to start the process. At 8:30 my doctor came in and broke my water, at 9:30 I had my epidural and the last hour seemed to fly by. I pushed I believe about 3 times, no more than 10 minutes and Bryn arrived safely at 10:42am! My only fear this time around was the breastfeeding part. Bray was an absolute nightmare to breastfeed and we were becoming daily visitors to the lactation consultant there as he was not having anything to do with it for the first week or so and on top of that became jaundice because of it. Not too long after she was born, I tried breastfeeding her and she latched on like she had been doing it for years, it was simply a huge relief! All in all, it was another smooth delivery and its just amazing how alike the pregancies and deliveries were with each of them. They ended up only being 2 oz difference in birth weight-Bray 8 lbs. 2 oz. and Bryn 8 lbs. even. Bray was 21 1/2 in. and Bryn 21 inches and both born in mid-late morning. Bray at 9:06am and Bryn 10:42. They were also born in the same room at the hospital, how crazy is that? I sometimes think they were suppose to be twins, although they are what they call "Irish Twins" (meaning born within a year of each other) Although there are differences between them too. The hair was completely opposite, Bray a full head of red hair and Bryn just like her mama no hair and eventually blonde! I'm am blessed beyond words with these 2 and I can't imagine life without them! Happy Birthday B!
