You know when you have that moment where didn't realize how great something was until it was gone? Well, that has been the case with our whole house water softner system we have. I still remember the day way back 8 years ago when we had just moved in. As it is when you move into a new home you are bombarded with solicitors and fliers galore swarming your new home. One night when I was working, Chad met with a water softner company. That next day I heard we were the new owners of a very expensive water softner system and I was not a happy camper. I really could of thought of a thousand things we needed besides this. We went ahead and kept it and I'm so glad we did. Fast forward 8 years later and we are both down in the basement and here a loud clicking noise. It ends up being a part on our water system, so we search high and low on the internet trying to find a some dealer to get ahold of to come fix it. We finally came across what happens to be the only person that can fix it and he lives in Pueblo, oh dear! He informs us that it would be a few weeks before he will up in our area, so we decided we needed to have patience and deal with it the best we could. I remember turning on the water the next morning for my shower and all I could smell was chorine, nasty!! This was one of the many reminders how good we had it! I don't think I've ever had to buy so much bottled water in my life, I will be so glad to have it back, that is such a pain! That next week, Chad gets a belly ache and rumblings in the belly and we concluded that he had drank some of the city water. Fast forward to this week and the water technician made it to our home! We are waiting on a few parts to be fixed, but we are so thankful to him and you can tell how passionate he is about his job, I've never learned so much about crappy water in my life than I did now and it was quite alarming and sickening. Just a few that facts I remembered from him. Did you know that if there is chlorine present in your drinking water that you are 93% more likely to get cancer? Did you know that the best major brand bottled water to drink is Aquafina? Its completely pure, unlike Arrowhead. Yeah, scary stuff...I am forever grateful for what we have now. Another quick story, but alarming, is that you know the city water is bad when your dog is having diarrhea issues in the past week which we've finally linked to the tap water he's been drinking the last few weeks. So I bet there aren't too many spoiled dogs that get bottled water! :) We never realized it would cause issues with him too. We wasted $100 to try and take him to the vet only to figure it out on our own. :( So, I know this is really long and probably boring, but we are true examples and very loyal now to good quality drinking water. Now when you are asked to buy an expensive water softner system, make the huge investment, it will be SO valuable in the long run!!
