Ok, so today Chad calls me from work and tells me that he had just talked to the lady from the company we got our windows from and that we are going to have to replace our master bedroom window because it failed the Town of Parker inspection for fire code. AHHHHHH!!!?!?!? I can't tell you how ticked off and upset I was. First off, we already have to have our window above the front entry way TWICE redone because the glass has so many marks on it that won't come off and to have another window issue was not going to make me a happy customer. We picked these windows out of a catalog and we're told nothing about how it wouldn't pass a town inspection. If anything, they'll probably learn their lesson and know not to do it again because I'm sure we are costing them lots of money right now. But what is it these days with poor customer service?!? Its so rare anymore, its sad. You would think with 2 mishaps on a house, they'd at least offer us something good in return so that we could refer them to others, but now we probably won't unless they do come forward. Isn't there a study about if you get bad customer service vs. good, I remember that at one point...Anyway, to sum up a long story, looks like we have no choice but to pick out a new window. I'm really bummed as it was the one window in the house that is very noticable and it looks a ton better than the last one. I'm just hoping the new one will be somewhat nice, I just don't think we'll have the view we had out of the new one that we had with this one that is getting replaced. What a pain?!? I just realized that we have not had the best of luck with remodeling. Way back when, we replaced all the carpet in the house. The day of installation we get a call from Home Depot saying they don't have our carpet and it pretty much doesn't exist, but we picked it out at the store and went through all the paperwork?!? So the day of installation we had to leave our jobs to go pick out a different carpet on the fly, it was not a good day and needless to say we did not shop at Home Depot for the longest time. Its funny how its nobodys fault either or no one takes blame, ah it totally rubs me the wrong way. Also, we had a new patio door installed probably 3-4 years ago and went through Lowe's in getting one. I think I lost count at 4, as that's how many doors we went through before they could get the right one how its suppose to be. Its a beautiful door, but we are having lots of issues with it leaking now when it rains which affects the hardwoods inside, so you just can't win huh? Guess that what comes from having a little older of a house, always something to do or fix! Anyways, we've not had a great remodeling history and as much as we still have and want to do, it makes me cautious to start anything! And don't get me started on HOA's................:) Here's a before and after of our master bedroom window
