My main focus right now-an extra blog post!

Some of you may know that I have been trying to dig my heels into starting my own business operating a small daycare out of my home. I've always had a dream of wanting to have my own business and to be able to be at home at the same time, especially now that I'm a mom of 2! My mom was home with us for most of our childhood and I thought that was so important and valuable to us as kids and I always had hoped that I would be lucky enough to do the same and I was! This past month I've been taking the required classes in order to get my license. I had NO idea that it was so involved! I have learned so so very much and can't believe the amount of paperwork and just information that I have received. I tried to capture it in this picture, but it really doesn't do any justice on camera to when you see it all, it makes my head spin, but in a good way! My brain is overloaded and frazzled, but again in a good way. :) I'm realizing, even with 2 kids, how much work its going to take to get my daycare up and going to standards and getting organized. I finished my last class this weekend, however that doesn't mean I'm officially done! I have to finish up my portfolio and homework assignment, turn it in, get my license, send in all my paperwork to the state, have an inspection lady come out to our house to check that it is up to code and keep up with 15 hours of training a year to keep my license, so there is always going to be something to keep me hopping. But, as I keep saying, I am so excited for this next venture in my life and for the first time in my life, I can actually say I LOVE my job for once! I am already filling up with kids to the capacity I can have. I'm watching a few kids part time right now and will have 1 full time baby come this fall, so that leaves me with only 1 opening right now and I've already had some inquiries by word of mouth, so luckily for me, I've been able to stay busy that way!! I'm very blessed and thankful for this time in my life, I wouldn't have it any other way!

Sounds fantastic Jamie! It also sounds like a ton of work. But what a great way to be able to make a bit of money and also spend those precious years with your kids!
