What an exciting weather day today! We were at Costco getting a few groceries and as we were leaving the clouds to the northeast looked horrible. We had one more stop at Walmart to make to finish grocery shopping but decided to detour home for a few hours and let the weather simmer down. We continued to watch the weather reports on tv and had said there was a tornado touchdown by Southland's Mall area. I got a little worried as my Dad lives about a 1/2 mile north of the mall area and I knew he was gone for the weekend. After it had passed over, Chad decided to go check up on it and see if there was any damage we needed to take care of immediately. Luckily, he had 1 tree uprooted, a broken window, lots of shingles gone and lots of golf ball sized hail which Chad thought were probably more like tennis ball sized since this was 3 hours after it had hit. Some neighbors around him had lots of other damage including chunks of siding missing, so we feel pretty lucky he faired as good as he did considering what could of happened. Hopefully he has good home insurance as he'll need a new roof and a new window, oh and a tree, but too bad that doesn't really count! Thankfully he lives in a new neighborhood, so the trees are still brand new and can't do too much damage yet! I kicked myself for not sending Chad with the camera for my daily picture today, but here is the picture of the tornado from a website.
