J&K+8

So, if you don't already know, I LOVE Jon and Kate plus 8. I look forward to every Monday night as there is usually a new episode! I am also proud to say that I finally finished another book for the first time in 3-4 months and it was none other than "Multiple Bles8ings" by Kate. At first I was unsure if I wanted to read it as I have watched every episode and really thought I probably knew as much about them as I could possibly know. However, I was wrong and I'm SO glad I read the book. Kate did an unbelievable job (I don't know where she found the time!) to portray their life from the beginning until now. I learned so much more about them than I thought I knew and it was such a fun book to read! The most touching part about the book was their relationship with God and how incredible God worked in their everyday life, especially when she had the sextuplets and Jon was unemployed and they had no money coming in. The stories she told of how she didn't know how they were going to make it through another day and some unbelieveable miracle would happen and it was just amazing to here the stories and scripture she referenced in every situation they were in. It had me in tears every now and then and I have such a much more deeper appreciation for them now as I've read what they have been through and their relationship with God, it is trully remarkable. There are days when I think I have it rough and I just think of them and change my mind really fast!
Last night, the new episode was taking the kids to see their beautiful new home. It was so pretty and I'm so happy for them that they have more space for their kids and they totally deserve it after all they've been through! I was laughing at a certain part in the episode where Kate was cleaning out the fridge at their new place. I guess it was mildewy and moldy and as you know how much of a germ freak she is, it was comical to see that and actually got me to do one of my January 'to do' list items, which was to throughly clean our washing machine, inside and out. If you happened to see the episode and how grossed out she was, I was the SAME exact way when Chad and I tackled the job. I felt like I was on that show, "Dirty Jobs"! Our wash machine is going on 9 years old now and it had been awhile since I'd taken the time to clean it. After researching on the internet on how to clean the inside of the machine, I had most of that done during the day and now came the dirty, ugly part of taking parts off and cleaning them. I had never taken apart the 'fabric softner' part to clean it and I just about gagged when I did! It was disgusting and grimy and couldn't believe I had waited that long to do it. Chad did most of it as I couldn't handle it! But after working on it most of the evening, and laughing at ourselves using every avaiable cleaning tool-whether it be an old toothbrush, toothpicks, a wire hanger, it got the job done! It doesn't help when you have a pet either, it just makes more work...ugh, the hair just doesn't go away! So, you must wonder that I don't have anything else better to do, I'm sure I do. But, one of my new years resolutions was throughly cleaning some of those appliances that get overlooked and getting them done and I'm happy to say its done for at least 6 months to a year! Now, comes our fridge. I know how bad it is and I've been ignoring it and just have to bite the bullet and get it done next month, ah the joy of owning a home! Fun times!

Hi Jamie,
Thanks for your note on my blog. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant since April of 2007. I finally did with artifical insemination (IUI) in September, but it ended with a miscarriage in October. My body was finally physically ready to try again this month and we went through the shots, drugs, and insemination again 2 weeks ago. I found out yesterday that it didn't work.

On another note - Margaritas are my favorite! They are always what I go to on days like this.
