tough times...

So, there has been a lot of things going on lately, hopefully I won't ramble on too much about everything! Last Friday evening, Chad has his company Christmas party at the Inverness Hotel. It was very nice, they had open bar for a few hours and got to see many people you don't see but once a year or so! The food was very good and we even enjoyed a few dances! We didn't get home until 2 that next morning, so it made for a short night as the kids were up by 7! Brit and Dan came up to watch the kids for us, so we all went out for breakfast the next morning as a thank you for watching the kids, that's the least we can do! We spent most of the rest of weekend just being lazy. There were plenty of activities we could of gone and did, but sometimes after a few nights of no sleep, you just want to do nothing and enjoy being home! Sunday, we took the annual Christmas card photo picture of the kids and oh boy, was that work! I can't tell you what we did, we always leave it a surprise until you get it in the mail, but after about 50 photo takes, we got a halfway decent one of them! We always try to find something kind of unique and fun, we don't do a professional photo as those are nice, but get kind of boring and expensive! Since we've started it since having Bray, everyone will ask us about a month before Christmas what we are going to do this year for the photo as they always get a kick out of it, but we always leave them hanging...you just have to wait for your card to arrive! This week has been pretty good up until today. It just seemed like one thing after the other. It started off really well though, I got together with 2 old coworkers of mine from Starbucks and there were also a few others that currently work with my coworkers that I met as well. We try to get together every now and then and catch up with one another! Every year we try to organize a cookie exchange, so we were able to pull it off surprisingly at the last minute and it was so much fun and we also enjoyed a yummy brunch and mimosa's too! :)
When I got home, Bryn and Bray were way overdue for naps, so I got them down for naps and was able to have a little time to myself-I should of napped, but of course, I found other fun things to do, like be on the internet-surprise, surprise! Last night we FINALLY got their 1st and 2nd bday pictures taken at Portrait Innovations. And while its no surprise they didn't really smile for the pictures, we did get 1 pose of each kid and 1 Christmas one of them together that turned out pretty good. I will hopefully post them online this weekend as I need to scan them at Target and put them on a CD as we don't have a scanner. It is always such a chore to do it, but I think they turned out ok, can't beat the pkg. they offer, I wish we had the money to get all the pictures they took on a CD, but maybe next time... We took Rozzum to the vet a few weeks ago because he was dripping blood out of his penis. Well, it ended up that he supposedly scratched open a spot up in their while itching it and so $100 later and antibiotics for 2 weeks, we thought it would be fixed. Not so fast! Fast forward to today, I find blood spots again all over the floor. I called Chad to give him the bad news and scheduled yet another vet visit after work. This time it ended up being a urinary tract infection. That's what he may have had from the beginning they though and it just never finished healing, so I guess he had lots of bacteria in his urine. So, needless to say that was $200 down the drain again...so $300 in the last 2 weeks just seems so silly, its worse than having kids sometimes. The medicine alone is almost $80, just baffles me that its that much, I don't know how people afford to have pets anymore. And to top things off today, Chad's company is forgoing Christmas bonuses this year, which we usually depend on to get through Christmas, so that was a little dissappointing, but we are trying to stay upbeat, it could be much worse. Speaking of that, Chad was just having a bad day with everything going on, coming home depressed, he had just talked to his youngest sister on the phone and she was a little down too I guess. Come to find out, there was a dad from Wray that was killed in a car accident last night and he leaves behind 4 kids I guess. Chad instantly told her, "I don't have it bad" and it just makes you ache so bad for this family as its 2 weeks away from Christmas and I can't even begin to imagine what they are having to go through.
Hopefully the rest of the week gets better, not much going on. Just trying to stay ahead of everything, I've had a hard time finishing laundry this week, which I started on Monday, isn't that terrible? Its never-ending!?!?! Saturday we are hoping to go Christmas shopping. Luckily, we are spending about 1/2 of what we usually do, so we don't have much to shop for as we are cutting back dramatically this year with everything that is going on. I'm really excited to shop for the kids though, it has been so fun checking out everything online that we'd like to get them! I can't believe Christmas is 2 weeks from tomorrow, it is creeping up so fast!
