Christmas 2008

This year was such a blast with the kids and I know its only going to get better from here on out! We had such a fun time buying toys for them and needless to say, they are in 'toy heaven', have WAY too many toys, got spoiled rotten and don't have an excuse to be bored for months now! We started our Christmas on Saturday afternoon the 20th with my family. As all of us siblings get older, get jobs and grow, its harder to get everyone together. We decided this year to keep it simple but fun. We didn't exchange presents between all of us, the only presents we did were for the kids. We all met up at the Cheesecake Factory for an early dinner around 4:30. Of course, dinner was delicious and I stepped out of my comfort zone and vowed to try a new dish. As you know, there are tons of choices to choose from, I usually get the Chicken Madiera, but this time I chose the meatloaf, it wasn't too bad, but still enjoy my favorite! We all shared a piece of cheesecake and the kids LOVED the whipped cream! Afterwards, we went over to Brunswick Zone by the mall and bowled 1 game. This was B & B's first time bowling, of course Bryn didn't bowl, but Bray had a fun time and his bowling shoes were to die for, so darn cute! After bowling we came back to our house and let the kids open gifts and enjoyed margaritas. They got a new table and chairs, Michigan gear and many other little toys! All in all, it was a great evening with my family and I can't wait to do it again next year! Christmas Eve day, Chad's sister, Kellyn came down to watch the kids during the day so Chad and I could enjoy Christmas church service in peace. It was amazing as always and we were very thankful Kellyn could do that. That evening, Chad's parents and sister arrived. I made 8 different appetizers and also made a cranberry punch. It was a really long day as I spent most of the day cleaning up the house, prepping food, going to church, visiting, kids getting to bed late and by the time Santa got their horse put together, it was midnight and we were exhausted and knew it was going to be a short night! Christmas morning, the kids got up around the usual 7:30, I prepped my egg casserole and sticky rolls for a late breakfast and we just took in the morning watching the kids open their gifts! Between trying to get food prepped and everything else, it took all morning to open gifts! The kids got SO SO spoiled with gifts and now Chad and I just shake our head and wonder where we are going to put it all, we don't have enough room! They got their horse from Santa, Bryn got a cute trike from Santa as well. They also got a new kitchen with the fixings from us along with a books, a moon for Bray's room, bowling set, doodle pad, a little indoor trampoline and easel from the aunts and uncles, Bray got himself his own little laptop computer, Bryn got a shopping cart, Elmo stuff and Bray just can't live without Nerf bb hoops everywhere, so he now has 2 more to be entertained with! All the guys had the pleasure of spending the rest of the day putting things together, but they enjoy it! My parents came in the early afternoon and we all enjoyed prime ribe and much more! It was a great day and I am SO very blessed to have what I have and I'm already counting down to next year! We hope everyone had a very merry Christmas as well!
