Annual trip to Wray with the kiddos
Last week I left with the kids to go to Wray for 4 days to visit family and friends. I did this last year, but only with Braylon (I was prego with Bryn) , so I was a little nervous on how I would manage with 2 this time! Chad took off for Miami for a guys football trip on Thursday morning, so I figured I might as well go to Wray and see family instead of being up here stuck in our house 24/7 for 4 days. The trip down went pretty well, Bray only slept a half hour and Bryn about 45 min., but they managed to stay mostly happy. Once we got there we had dinner with my little brother at 4th and Main where Bray managed to have a meltdown in the restaurant, but once there was food, that stopped! We stayed up at my aunt and uncles for 2 days. My aunt stays home with my little cousin who is the same age as Bray, so its nice to hang around them during the day when everyone else is at work and the kids can play together! The first few days were an adjustment as the kids and I were staying in the basement, so we shared one big room. Bray managed to not take naps the first few days, so that made for long days, but he did manage to go to bed early those 2 nights. My cousins (both girls) who are 9 and 2 that we stayed with LOVE Bryn, so the girls played so well together and Bray eventually came out of his shell and loved playing on their awesome new playground and trampoline! Friday night as I packed up and got the kids in the car ready to go to my inlaws for 2 nights, I was backing out of my aunt and uncles driveway and managed to flatten and ruin one of the tires on the explorer. I could of just cryed as I was all packed up and the kids were a little crabby and just wanted to get up to my inlaws and get unpacked again. So, my aunt helped me unload the kids and my stuff, reload into her vehicle and I left my explorer there so my uncle could fix it in the morning and eventually made it up to my inlaws, ahhhhhhhh!?!?! What a bummer ending to the day, but I'm lucky it happened in Wray and not on the road. The next two days went well at the inlaws, the kids enjoyed jumping on the trampoline and going to a bbq and the park. We left on Sunday after lunch and went by to see my brother who was in the field with the tractor and then off to Idalia to see my grandparents for a little bit. All in all, it was a good trip, the kids were exhausted by the time we got home and I brought back a cold with me and Bray is fighting a little one too, go figure! Chad made it home safely late Sunday night, he had a good time and it was good to be home again, but lots of catching up to do! Chad took Monday off and we just got caught up on the usual errands and getting new tires on the Explorer, so it ended up being a costly trip for me to Wray, ugh.. I have enjoyed doing this trip to Wray with just the kids and me for the last two years, I hope we can do it again next year, its nice to have a break from each other, but Chad and I do vow that we are going to go a few places with no kids next year and have time to ourselves which we really really need!
