Oh Bray..this is him sacked out on the couch at 8pm. Yes, this is probably a normal bedtime for most kids, however our kids go to bed later, 9pm usually. We would rather them stay up a tad later than go to be earlier and wake up really early. He quit taking naps WAY too early, a little over a year ago (which in my opinion is too early to stop and most likely is, as I've heard 3 or 4 is a stopping point). I try to have him 'rest' (meaning lay down in our bed or the couch) while the other kids are sleeping and he does pretty good. But come dinner time he will fall asleep sometimes or if we have to go run errands after everyone leaves, he's asleep before we get to our first stop. It is frustrating at times because I really wish he'd just sleep at least a half hour when everyone else does, then we wouldn't have to deal with this at dinnertime. If he does fall asleep, we try not to let him fall asleep for more than a half hour so he can go to bed at a decent time. Brynley on the other hand is my good sleeper and takes a 2 hour nap in the afternoon, yet come 8pm, she's wired and ready for another few hours, ugh, can't ever win with this parenting thing sometimes! However, she is getting better and as long as you can stay tough and stay on a constant routine, it really helps tremendously, kids need routine and that shows when we go out of routine ever now and then!
