Bryn never did get any better overnight, so thankfully our peditrician office is open on Saturday mornings until noon, so I made an appointment to get her in. We had a feeling she had an ear infection with the way she was picking at her ear and the fact she had goobery eyes told me she had pink eye again. Yep, we were in fact right. It was a pretty bad infection in both ears and pink eye in both as well. Ugh..there's nothing more disheartning than seeing your kids sick and feeling so helpless. Luckily, she prescribed this awesome medication that treats both the ears and eyes at the same time and its only once a day. That is such a relief because treating pink eye with eye drops every 3-4 hours for 10 days is NOT fun, I know from experience! Its a little more expensive than I really want to pay for medication, but its almost worth the hassle of fighting them! So this is day #3 of the medicine and you can totally see a difference already, yeah!!
On Friday, Chad took Bray in for his 3 year checkup. We already knew we are raising a 'manchild' as we like to call him! He is 41.5 inches tall and 39.4 lbs., which puts him in the 97th percentile in both weight and height. He's always been in that 90th percentile in height, so it doesn't surprise us! The 97th in weight is no concern though, it doesn't mean he's chubby, its based on other things and the peditrician says he's a healthy kid! He is only a little more than 1/2 pound from moving to a booster seat, which is usually happens at 4 years old, crazy! He had a reg. flu shot and another shot and Chad said he didn't even cry, that's a first and I'm very proud of him and he was proud to show me his bandaids when he came home, as you'll see from the picture! They do have the H1N1 shot in stock, however they only reserve them for the ones that are very sick I guess. We are told to find it elsewhere. I'm still up in the air on what to do. I know I'm suppose to get one too as I'm a caregiver of an infant under 6 month old, however, I'm a little uneasy with the fact that I hear the shot has 5 times the mercury of a flu shot and I really am not comfortable putting that in all our bodies, guess we'll see what we decide, I need to do some more research. I've also heard that if you haven't had the shot by now, don't worry because its already reached its peak, so who knows, its a little overwhelming with all the info. out there and sometimes you don't know who to believe, I guess the best thing I usually try to do is do my research and use my best instinct.
